Regina Livingston

Executive Director of Unspoken Treasure Society

As founder and CEO of Unspoken Treasure Society, Regina has always had a vision to help bring unity in the world, but at a young age, did not quite know how to make that happen. She believes all of her life’s experiences have helped form her to the woman she is today. As a result, the Unspoken Treasure Society was formed.

Unspoken Treasure Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping find solutions to the needs of the trans community of color. Our vision is to provide resources so that those affected will have the same opportunities; whether it be job placement, affordable and fair housing, safe sex education, HIV testing and counseling, suicide prevention as well as advocating for victims of domestic abuse.

Since its conception in 2018, Unspoken Treasure Society now has four chapters; which includes Gainesville, Jacksonville, Hollywood, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia.

Lazaro Tejera

HIV Prevention Planner at WellFlorida

Throughout his youth, Lazaro grew fascinated with health and wellness. His undergraduate studies in health disparities further catalyzed his passion for medicine and, as an intern with the High Impact Prevention (HIP) program, found his niche within the field. Upon graduating from the University of Florida and inspired by his experiences, he devoted himself to the fight against inequities in healthcare.

Today, Lazaro serves as the HIV Prevention Coordinator for HIP, where his main goal is to decrease the spread of HIV in North-Central Florida. With a 15-county service area, he works to provide free HIV testing, sexual health education, and essential support services to disenfranchised populations. He leads several community-level interventions, workshops, and recurring testing events which all improve access to vital resources in underserved regions. Lazaro also partners with local community-based organizations, non-profit agencies, private businesses, schools, and healthcare facilities to disseminate accurate information relating to HIV and sexual health.

During the onset of the COVID-19 global health crisis, Lazaro and his team worked to improve the efficacy of their work and do so in a way which was safe for all. Innovation became crucial to their success and the program continues to grow despite the obstacles faced. Most notably, Lazaro has expanded services in target zip codes which are home to priority populations faced with high incidence rates.
